Additional Activities
Mouse Wizards
Computers play an important part in society today, therefore it is important that today's children are educated in how to use them at an early age. As well as having access to the school's computer, the children also have the opportunity of working with specialist IT teachers, on a one-to-one basis, to develop basic IT skills, (for an additional cost).
Cooking
The children participate in the fun and creative activity of cooking on a weekly basis, through which we aim to introduce them to a variety of different cooking processes, to encourage creativity, and to develop both fine and gross motor skills, communication skills, and problem solving skills, as well as to promote self-confidence and independence.
Music & Movement
With a link between music training and spatial reasoning in young children there is great importance on including musical experiences and opportunities for children in early education nowadays. At school the children engage in a range of creative sessions from role-play, singing and dancing, to using musical instruments and exploring rhythm and rhyme.
Nature Walk
The children are introduced to various aspects of the natural world through our weekly nature walks to Burnham Beeches, through which we aim to encourage the children to develop a caring attitude towards their environment, as well as to help them understand their place in it.
